One scan, email ready to send
An email QR code encodes a mailto link with a pre-filled address, subject, and message. Scan it, and the phone's email app opens with everything already filled in. The user just taps Send. No typing, no mistakes, no copying an address off a flyer.
How to Create an Email QR Code
Takes under a minute. Everything happens in your browser — no account, no data stored.
Open the generator and pick Email
Click the button above, or open QR Studio and select the 📧 Email tab at the top of the form.
Enter the destination email address
Type the address you want messages sent to. This is the only required field — subject and body are both optional.
Add a subject line (optional)
Pre-fill a subject so the email arrives with context. For example: "Enquiry from your business card" or "Menu feedback". Saves the sender from leaving it blank.
Add a message body (optional)
Pre-write the message — handy for structured enquiries, support requests, or feedback forms. The sender can edit before hitting Send.
Customize and download
Pick your colors and corner style, then download as PNG, SVG, EPS, or PDF — no watermark, no account needed.
Where Email QR Codes Work Best
Any situation where you want someone to email you without the friction of typing your address manually.
Business cards
Replace your printed email address with a QR code. One scan opens a pre-addressed email — no typos, no missed dots.
Restaurant feedback
Print on receipts or table cards. Pre-fill the subject as "Feedback" so responses are easy to filter and act on.
Product packaging
Add a QR code that opens a pre-filled support request. Reduces friction for customers who need help.
Event signage
Collect enquiries at trade shows and markets without staff having to hand out cards or spell out addresses.
Instagram & link-in-bio
Add an email QR code to your media kit or rate card so brands can reach you with one scan.
Classrooms & offices
Post a QR code so students or colleagues can email you without having to find your address in a directory.
What Gets Encoded in the QR Code?
An email QR code uses the standard mailto: URI format — the same one used in email links on websites. It looks like this behind the scenes:
mailto:you@example.com?subject=Hello&body=I+saw+your+card
When a phone's camera scans the code, the operating system recognises the mailto scheme and hands it to the default email app — Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook, or any other. The address, subject, and body are pre-populated. The sender just taps Send.
QR Studio generates everything entirely in your browser. Your email address and message content are never sent to any server — they're encoded directly into the image file you download.

Yes — both are optional fields in QR Studio. You can pre-fill just the address, just the subject, or all three. Whatever you set is encoded into the QR code and pre-populated when the email app opens.
Yes. The QR code just pre-fills the fields — the email app opens normally and the sender can edit anything before hitting Send. They're not locked in to what you pre-wrote.
No. Email QR codes from QR Studio are static — the mailto link is encoded directly into the image. It works forever as long as the email address stays active. If you change addresses, generate a new code.
Yes. Upload any PNG, JPG, SVG, or WebP file in the Logo / Image Overlay section. QR Studio automatically raises error correction to H (30%) to keep the code scannable with the logo overlaid.
