What does not work is a link to a product page. If the destination is a shop, the code is a receipt.
How to Make a Valentine's QR Code
Decide what is on the other side
A playlist, a photo album, a video, or a page you wrote. The code is just the doorway, so the thing behind it is what matters.

Getting It to Scan Off a Card
Red and pink are the point, and they are also where these codes fail. Cameras read brightness rather than colour, so the rule is depth, not hue:
- Go deep. A deep red such as #C81E3C reads far better than a bright or pastel pink on white.
- Keep the background pale. Red on cream is fine. Red on dark card usually is not.
- Print it at 2cm or larger and leave clear space around the edges.
- Scan the printed card, not the screen, before you hand it over.
